          Description

          Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5968R-001 chronograph

The 5968R-001 pairs a rose gold Aquanaut case with a brown sunburst dial, black-gradient rim and matching dark brown composite strap. It is the chronograph version of the Aquanaut line, combining a sporty case with a flyback movement and a dial layout designed around a central chronograph seconds hand.

          Reference profile

The reference-level profile below reflects published manufacturer specifications for Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968R-001. Confirm the selected movement grade, external finish and water-resistance testing for the exact build offered here before ordering.

          • Reference: 5968R-001.
          • Case: rose gold, 42.2 mm diameter and 11.9 mm thickness.
          • Movement: CH 28-520 C self-winding flyback chronograph.
          • Functions: central chronograph seconds, 60-minute counter and date in an aperture.
          • Power reserve: approximately 45 to 55 hours.
          • Dial and strap: sunburst brown with black-gradient rim and dark brown composite strap.
          • Manufacturer-listed water resistance: 30 m.

          Dial, case and finish

The case and bezel use alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes, which makes the rounded octagonal geometry easier to read in photographs and on the wrist. The 60-minute counter at six o’clock mirrors the bezel shape, while the date sits in a compact aperture. Check pusher feel, chronograph reset, hand alignment, sub-dial finish and the fit of the composite strap during QC.

          Wearing and comparison notes

Compared with a time-only Aquanaut, the 5968R is thicker and more technically focused, but it keeps the same integrated strap format and casual character. The brown-on-rose-gold palette is warmer than the blue or khaki versions and is easier to pair with smart-casual clothing.

          Ordering and QC

Request timed chronograph testing, a flyback reset check, date change inspection and photographs of the pushers, crown, lugs and clasp. Confirm the exact movement grade and the water-resistance test performed on the selected build. Swiss Horova prepares each order with protective packaging and tracked delivery, and support can clarify the movement, finishing, sizing, strap and available QC information before dispatch.

          BUILD GUIDE

          Compare the three build levels

          • Best for value-focused buyers
          Swiss movement

          More refined

A higher-level option with an approximate 48-72-hour power reserve and improved exterior details.

          • Approx. 48-72-hour power reserve
          • Longer overall power reserve
          • More refined exterior finishing
          • Best balance of performance and detail
          Original appearance

          Top appearance

The highest-level appearance version, made for customers who prioritize visual detail.

          • Top exterior version
          • Highest-level visual detailing
          • Best for appearance-first buyers

Quick guide: Japanese movement is approximately 24-36 hours, while Swiss movement is approximately 48-72 hours, so Swiss delivers a longer power reserve across the range. Original appearance is the top version for exterior finish. Approximate figures may vary by model.
